Look how big I am now!

I love taking baths!

This is Daddy's chair and my chair.

Do you like my suit? I'm trying to look like Daddy.

All clean!

I like to put my arm up on the armrest like a big person.

Blind Trust

When I look at Victor’s little eyes I see trust. He doesn’t worry about food, a place to sleep, or being warm at night. He trusts us as his parents to take care of him, like we trust the Lord, waiting on Him to provide every thing that we need. He also trusts us to tell him the truth.

Yesterday while I was in the post office I met a little boy, who told me he was five years old. His big brown eyes met mine as I smiled at him and responded, “You are growing up!” “Yep, growing up to go to Heaven!”, was his enthusiastic reply. I assumed that meant that he was saved until his Dad looked down at him and reassured him that all good people go to Heaven and that he was a good little boy. The child’s face reflected his complete faith in his father’s words. He trusted that what his Dad said was the truth. He thought that he was going to Heaven.

I was shocked and saddened at the father’s quick answer and the boy’s assurance. Walking back across the street, I wondered how many little boys had grown up to be teenagers and men, thinking they were going to Heaven because they were mostly good. How many parents had been deceived by their parents, or just refused to tell the truth to their children about life.

Little children trust blindly, and can easily be deceived  and misdirected about life and eternity. God wants those little children’s hearts to know the truth. It is just as important to reach children with the Gospel as it is to reach adults. They want to believe the truth, but we must tell it to them.

More Baby Gifts

A church that supports us in MS had a baby shower for us today! They bought us a pack ‘n play as a church and also gave us some money towards setting up Victor’s room when we get to Mexico City. We are so grateful for all of the blessings that we have received!

The time for Victor to come is getting closer! Rebekah is doing well and the baby is growing every minute! Thank you for your prayers.

Baby Shower

This Sunday our home church had a baby shower for Victor! Getting gifts for him and seeing all of the baby things around the house for the past few days has really made it seem like a reality.

We got several special cards, but I would like to share this little poem that was on one of the cards we received.

“I’m here at last, your newborn child,
a gift from God above-
The fruit that blossoms forth with joy
from two lives joined in love!
I have a lot of tiny parts,
all meant to give you pleasure,
Like shiny eyes and dimpled knees
and sweetness without measure.

The most important part by far
is one you cannot see-
There is a small eternal soul
that’s deep inside of me!
The devil has his traps all laid-
he wants my soul to keep!
his darts are sharp; his lures are bright;
he will not rest or sleep.

Since I’m so trusting and naive,
I’ll be an easy prey-
If you two don’t put up a fight,
he’ll surely have his way.
And since my heart is stained with sin,
I’ll fight you too, you know;
But though you’ll often weary be-
oh, please, don’t let me go!

I know you’ll work and plan and save
to take good care of me;
I’ll eat good food and wear nice clothes,
and loved I’ll always be.
But though providing food and clothes
must surely have its part,
By far your most important task
is what you teach my heart.

For time will pass, and death will come
and breath from body sever;
The parts of me you see will die-
my soul will live forever.
So through my life, dear Mom and Dad,
please keep this as your goal:
To take with you from earth to heaven
my small eternal soul!”

Victor’s News

Rebekah is 33 weeks pregnant! It seems like Victor is getting bigger every day now. His birthday is getting closer, and we are getting ready for him to be here. Many people have given us things for him, and we are so grateful for everyone’s generosity and thoughtfulness.

Our home church and one other church are giving us baby showers for Victor. We are so blessed to have so many brothers and sisters in Christ! God is taking care of all three of us!

Victor now should weigh about 4 1/2 lbs, and should be around 12 inches long from his head to his rump! Rebekah’s belly is getting bigger too! Thank you for all of your prayers for her and Victor.
